But Robert Brown, Deputy Education Minister, told her that, only the day before the debate was held, 120 staff from the TEIs attended one of a number of conferences being held to address teacher training needs which will arise from the curriculum review.
The issue of how well teacher education institutions are preparing for the changes in schools was raised by Margo MacDonald, the Independent MSP. "A successful curriculum must be delivered by well-trained, confident teachers," she said.
