Spotlight on ... Twisted fairy tales

Some pupils think they are too old for fairy tales, or that the stories are out of date. Use these resources to encourage them to get creative and adapt traditional tales for a modern audience.

Try HarrisSchool’s modern fairy tales for the big screen and turn your classroom into a film set. Students subvert character roles - for example, the knight is a coward whom the princess must rescue. Then they can create a storyboard, film poster or script a scene.

Listen to storyteller Vicky Parson tell the creepy original French version of what we now know as Little Red Riding Hood in a TaleTimesStories video.

Or add a little colour to storytelling with emilyfd’s fairy-tale comic strip template.
