We do get around. And so it was that we found ourselves recently at a conference on the digital age. One of the products enthusiastically extolled was a computer game called “RollerCoaster Tycoon” which was developed by techno wizard Chris Sawyer.

Imagine our surprise when we checked his website (www.chris sawyer.com) and discovered the following statement: “Chris Sawyer supports St Mary’s Episcopal primary school in its fight to remain self-governing. Please go to the school’s website and support them if you can.” Links are helpfully provided.

Could this be the man the campaigners have been looking for to fund their case all the way to the House of Lords, we wonder? He might even be able to help in other ways: another of his “widely acclaimed” PC (personal computer, that is, not politically correct) games is “Transport Tycoon”.
