* An excluded pupil from Llantwit Major has beaten nine nominees to take the title of Young Achiever of the Year 2005 at the Vale of Glamorgan Youth Awards in Barry, south Glamorgan. Stacey Brown, 16, won for her work in alternative education on voluntary projects, including a wall display at Llantwit Major Youth Centre.
