Staffordshire pupils have used their heads to come up with ways to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
Children and teachers from Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School in Fenton were all sponsored to wear hats for one day this week, as part of a local Hats For Haiti scheme.
The pupils participated in different activities throughout the day, including a hat parade. Here, certificates were awarded for the best hats, either shop-bought or homemade.
There was also a school-wide assembly, which highlighted the problems faced by those in Haiti, and emphasised the importance of raising money for victims of the earthquake.
So far, more than #163;200 has been raised, but money will continue to be collected throughout the week.
School business manager Tracy Knight said she was very pleased by the effort put into the day by both pupils and staff. AB.
