Pupils at Auchenlodment Primary in Johnstone have made a DVD film as part of their project on “Standing up to anti-social behaviour in our community”.

The film gives pupils the chance to express their opinions on binge-drinking, gang culture and other issues which can mar a community’s reputation and image.

Elaine Webster, headteacher, said: “The pupils are passionate about their community, and their enthusiasm and work in this project demonstrates their commitment to challenging anti-social behaviour.”

Arts production company Fablevision helped the pupils make the 10-minute film called Castle Living. It stars P7 pupils and focuses on the message “We don’t want to be a part of that”.

Auchenlodment was the first school to pilot a junior neighbourhood warden scheme, which has now been rolled out across some other schools in Renfrewshire and replicated in other councils.
