What has been the best arts company to visit your school in the past year?

Boilerhouse Theatre Company How did you hear about them?

A letter circulated to the schools.

What did they do?

They performed a play which dealt with drug and solvent misuse, and provided a workshop for students.

What age group?

S2.

Did you do any preparation beforehand?

We had done previous drugs education, but not specifically for the play.

Any follow-up work?

Yes. We continued the drug education in personal and social education, and discussed the issues raised in the performance.

How long did they stay?

For a morning and an afternoon session.

How much did they cost?

It was free.

What was so good about them?

The material was relevant to the students. They presented issues in a manner that was easily understood by the target audience.

How relevant was their work to the curriculum?

Very.
