School: St Dominic’s RC Primary, Crieff, Perthshire, school roll 104, classes involved P1-7; headteacher Laura Mason What was the best arts company to visit your school in the past year? The West Midlands Theatre Group What did they do? They performed Robin Hood. They provided all the costumes, lighting, sound effects and music as well as costumes for audience participation.

Did you do any preparation? We made sure the children knew the story.

Did you do any follow-up work? Some classes wrote about the visit and did art work.

What did the visit cost? They were visiting other schools in the area, so we negotiated a discount (pound;50). It would normally be about pound;130.

Who paid? We asked parents for donations where possible, and the school fund paid for the rest.

What was so good about them? It was something different and took the children out of themselves. They brought a familiar story to life and gave the children a close-up view of drama at work.

How relevant was it to the curriculum? Not very, but it is a display of expressive arts.
