Special events for children are being staged at the Old Royal Observatory, Greenwich, as part of “Set97”, the National Week of Science, Engineering and Technology (March 14-23). They will be able to make their own sundials (15th), clocks (16th 22nd) and pin-hole cameras (22nd 23rd). The week’s main event will be “An Evening With The Stars” on 14th when visitors will be able to view the stars through Britain’s largest refracting telescope following restoration work on the Great Equatorial Dome (advance bookings only).
