Still in Bearsden, the St Andrew’s College in-service programme has caused much interest in schools with its offer of “Bookmaking across the curriculum”. But as one physical education teacher not previously noted for deep concern about language and literacy pointed out: “With the pressure on budgets, I reckon the odds on getting on to the course are 10 to one.”
