AS A primary headteacher-candidate for the GTC, I was disappointed that the National Association of Head Teachers, not satisfied with the privilege of a direct nomination, chose to interfere with the democratic process by “inviting” members to vote for privately nominated candidates.

This shows a total disregard for the credentials, moives, and capabilities of the other 12 candidates, not to mention a contempt for the democratic process. Their action could render the rest of us unelectable, unless fair-minded and forward thinking colleagues choose to break with the tradition.
