WHILE the employers are not prepared to make substantial changes to their offer, they are willing to spell out what will be expected of the new professional leaders and how a revised working week and year would operate.

Teachers could still be expected to work some extra days without affecting their overall working hours.

Councils may not give ground on composite classes either. They want the present limits relaxed in return for a guarantee that class sizes will not exceed 30.
