THE EQUAL pay campaign by primary heidies could be lengthy and messy judging by the first hearings at the industrial tribunal in Glasgow.
The claims of two retired Glasgow heads were described by Ian Truscott, QC for the local authorities, as “opportunistic”. He followed that by labelling the application of Bill Milligan, the South Ayrshire head and leading light in the Association of Head Teachers in Scotland, as “parasitic”.
This was “unfortunately pejorative”, Brian Napier, the heidies’ legal brief, hit back.
If this keeps up they could be exchanging more than pejoratives by the time the final hearings take place later this year. Wallets at 20 paces, perhaps?
