Scotland’s Travelling Gallery is on the road again with an exhibition that explores still life. Nine contemporary European artists feature in Out of the Ordinary, which includes photographs, paintings and sculptures.

The gallery-in-a-bus will be touring schools and public venues until mid-June, taking in Edinburgh, South Lanarkshire, Angus, Stirling, Dumfries and Galloway, Caithness, Midlothian, Renfrewshire and the Western Isles.

An education pack that complements the exhibition can be adapted for any age group and can even be used with those who do not get a chance to visit the bus. It covers still life from the early 20th century and is illustrated with work not only by the artists featured in the show but also by Picasso, Warhol and Damian Hirst. The evolution of still life is explained in plain language and there are easy instructions on how to create a variety of art works in the classroom.
