The Scottish Storytelling Centre has been awarded pound;100,000 of National Lottery funding by the Scottish Arts Council to extend the Storymakers pilot project begun in 2001. The aim is to work with teachers and librarians to develop children’s storytelling skills, using traditional material and different art forms, such as drama.

Twenty authorities are in partnership with the centre and other supporters. Each project varies according to the area. The ultimate plan is to form storytelling club links and have storytellers-in-residence in schools.
