Contrary to our story “Welsh rate their LEAs” (TES Cymru, January 7) the Assembly government does have a formal strategy for raising standards at key stage 3, set out in Aiming for Excellence. ACCAC, the Welsh curriculum, qualifications and assessment authority, has issued guidance on meeting the needs of gifted and talented pupils.
