(Photograph) - This striking image by Poppy Pounder from South Hampstead high school won third prize in the Year 6 category of a recent art competition sponsored by Epson at Girls’ Day School Trust schools. Pupils were asked to interpret the themes ‘regeneration’ (Year 9) and ‘expression’ (Year 6). Confronted with the challenge of satisfying criteria of artistic interpretation of an abstract theme and exploiting the possibilities of computer art, the aspiring artists produced some thought-provoking work and gave the panel of judges (which included Online designer Steve Place representative) a tough time picking the winners. Winning schools received Epson printers.
