A student faces jail after admitting carrying a semi-automatic pistol on to his college campus.

Adamo Kizey, 18, was found with the gun and a magazine containing six rounds of ammunition after he was searched at Kingston College in south London.

At Kingston Crown Court last week, he pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life, possession of a silencer and cannabis possession.

Peter Mayhew-Smith, the college principal, said: “Our main priority is the safety of our students and unlawful behaviour is not tolerated. The incident is the first of its kind and the college will continue working with the police to ensure students are educated on crime-related issues.”

Police arrested Kizey in February after receiving a tip-off claiming that the teenager was dealing drugs. He was summoned to a room at the college, where officers were waiting to search him.

Despite his denials that he had anything on him, they found the pistol in his jacket, and the magazine in an outer pocket.

Back at his home in Kingston-upon-Thames, officers discovered 20 wraps of cannabis, a gun silencer hidden in a sock, and a set of weighing scales.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Beyer, of the Metropolitan Police, said: “This student was carrying a firearm on college property, which posed a significant safety risk to students and teaching staff, as well as the wider community.”

Kizey will be sentenced on September 24.
