THE UNIVERSITY of Wales in Swansea, where a student last year became seriously ill with meningitis, is planning a mass vaccination programme for 2,500 first-year students arriving next month. Students who will be living in halls of residence have been advised to ask their home GP for immunisation. The authority is supplying Swansea doctors with vaccine for those who arrive unimmunised.
