Students protesting at the expulsion of three students from Kingsway College have occupied the London college’s library and main administration office.

Around 40 people spent a night in the building after a mass meeting voted to step up action against an injunction banning student union officials from entering the campus.

Union president Nick de Marco, and fellow officers Naveed Malick and Karen Doyle face assault charges following a paint attack on Tory party chairman Dr Brian Mawhinney by opponents of the Government’s Asylum Bill last November.

The expulsion of Mr de Marco was backed by National Union of Student leaders but lecturers dubbed it “political victimisation”.
