UNIVERSITY and college students are being trained by Community Service Volunteers (CSV) to help raise school reading levels. The Learning Together initiative places students for half-days in local schools for up to 20 weeks. It was launched this week by Professor Michael Barber, head of the Department for Education and Employment’s standards and effectiveness unit. For more details call the CSV on 0171 278 6601.
