Nations unite

Modern languages

Racing champs

Kilmarnock Academy, under the guidance of teacher Tom Campbell, has won the Bloodhound Challenge for the past three years.

Timely app

- Stirling High has launched a free calendar and news smartphone app for parents and pupils. Available on iPhones and Android phones, the app gives parents the school calendar, a news feed and the ability to tailor the contents to their children's activities. Any changes to the calendar or important news, such as an event being cancelled, can be instantly updated to the phone.

Winning ways

- The Lord Advocate, Frank Mulholland QC, has announced the winning students in a South Lanarkshire schools art competition, designed to promote equality through art and educate pupils about hate crime.
