A knife crime education campaign, which has seen knife-carrying cut by 35 per cent in Inverclyde, is to be rolled out to North and South Lanarkshire, south-east Glasgow, west Edinburgh, and East and North Ayrshire. Tactics include hard-hitting talks in schools and targeted advertising in areas where young people are known to congregate.

Two 18-year-olds with sight loss represented Scotland at a conference on disability and inclusion at the European Parliament last weekend. Gemma Mackintosh and Katrina Thomson, both members of the Haggeye youth forum, discussed how inclusive the European education systems are for students with disabilities and how they could be improved.
