WELL-BEING

- A film recorded by P6 pupils at Wilton Primary in Hawick has won an award as part of the Seafood in Schools project, aimed at encouraging people to eat more seafood. The pupils filmed a school assembly, which included game show “I’m a Fish, Get me Out of Here!”, and performances of songs on the “Fish Factor” by acts called Tuna T and Little Sprats.

Walk the walk

- Primary schools are being urged to sign up to the Giant Walking Bus event next June, which is expected to see 100,000 children march a safe route of 500m, carrying “Slow down around schools” placards. Schools get a resource pack promoting road safety to coincide with the walk, part of Child Safety Week. walkingbus@brake.org.uk.
