What do you enjoy most about your job?

The variety, meeting new people and helping make a difference.

What do people not know about your job that they should?

Whenever I visit a school, I hate having to ask where the gents’ toilets are, and the biscuits I bring are just a bribe in the hope that no one asks a hard question.

What else do you read regularly?

The Herald (online) and too many crimethriller novels.

Who would you like to see writing in TESS?

Non-educators - maybe some industry experts or entrepreneurs giving their view on education and what skills they’d like to see children being trained in.

What do you see as the big issue for Scottish education?

A bit obvious, I know, but the introduction of new qualifications next year.
