What do you enjoy most about your job?
Helping members, including classroom assistants, nursery staff, heads and teachers - the job certainly has variety.
What do people not know about your job that they should?
That it’s about more than high-profile, headline-grabbing “political” stuff. Ultimately, the most important work is out of the limelight, supporting individual members.
What else do you read regularly?
The Scotsman and The Herald.
Who would you like to see writing in TESS?
More school practitioners.
What do you see as the big issue for Scottish education?
Reconciling provision of adequate resources with the desired outcomes for children and students. While unions exist to support members, the needs of children and students must always be at the heart of education - which is why Voice members don’t strike.
