An optimistic view of the effects of the 5-14 programme on primary-secondary liaison has emerged from a study at Northern College. Professor Mary Simpson and Jonquil Goulder state that the “surprise should not be at how little but at how much has been achieved since the beginning of the programme”.
But they warn: “The implementation of the 5-14 reporting requires nothing less than the learning of new language, new codes, new understandings.”
