Don’t just get a life, get a better one. That’s what sustainable development is all about and, hopefully, it’s about to get better again. A new website to support education for sustainable development (ESD) has been created for teachers by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. It contains classroom case studies across subject areas and key stages so that teachers (and managers) can get to relevant information easily and quickly.

Although ESD is required in subjects like geography, science, citizenship and design and technology, the website suggests ways in which it can gain contributions from other subjects, for example sections identified in the national literacy strategy by QCA curriculum experts, or in English or maths.
