Using handheld computers can make maths more interesting for children and help parents get involved, researchers have found. Homework, a system devised by academics at Sussex university and the London Knowledge Lab research centre, enables pupils to calculate on tablet PCs. The project found pupils spent more time doing maths when they used them and were more likely to do homework.
