Between the first publication of The TES in 1910 and its anniversary a century later the education system has experienced a number of swings of the pendulum. Presumably things were “wrong” and needed reform in 1910; the same seems to apply in 2010. So perhaps in between these dates we got things “right” (or almost) but when? Can we rewind the tape and start again from that point?
