If Kintore primary in Aberdeenshire felt aggrieved about the comments made about Monikie primary in Angus as “best in the world” (TESS, last week), just think how Copeland primary in Glasgow feels.

They face odds significantly stacked against them in comparison with either of the other two schools.

Copeland serves an area of Govan, has free meal entitlement well above the national average and has attendance well below the national average.

Yet in May last year, it achieved 15 very goods in its HMI inspection. The school does deserve a mention.
