See how the shape of Britain has changed over the years in resources created by monks, sailors, kings and noblemen. You can browse through the collection and sort the maps by date or title. Alternatively, the search tool allows you to find maps by place, title, date or creator. You can enlarge and zoom into each map and there are accompanying notes describing the historical context and political background of the map and the technologies used to create it. A good starting point is Head of Map Collections Peter Barber's section called "curator's choice" which is shown on the homepage. www.collectbritain.co.ukcollectionsunveiling
