More than 80 MPs have signed an early day motion calling on the Government to encourage all schools to offer a qualification in personal finance.
Julia Goldsworthy, the Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesman, said: “Many people struggle to manage their finances effectively, primarily as a result of poor levels of financial capability.” MPs would also like more staff to be trained to teach financial education.
