Alan Klee, former head of Carterton community college, Oxfordshire, denied bullying and intimidating staff, when he reappeared before a disciplinary hearing last week.
He also rejected allegations that he had disregarded the school’s employment policy, failed to engage with staff, prevented the governing body fulfilling its duty and failed in his professional duty.
Mr Klee worked at the school from September 1992 to October 2003. He said he had not had a day off during his nine-year headship and that he had turned the school around. It was now over-subscribed and GCSE passes had risen from 29 per cent A to C grades to 58 per cent.
Mr Klee, who is now head of Minster college, Sheerness, Kent, said he was the victim of “malicious gossip of a minority of staff”.
The hearing continues.
