Teacher inspired two TV champs

So how is it that two champions attended the same Lancashire primary school within two years of each other?

Was it mere co-incidence or is there something in the water in Ashton-on-Ribble?

Today The TES can reveal that brainboxes Graham Nash (left) and John Davies (right) owe their success to their teacher and mentor Margaret Young. As nine-year-olds she introduced them to word and number games, paving their way to TV glory. Photograph by CHRIS THOMOND
