A TECHNOLOGY teacher at a Bristol comprehensive in Bristol was being mourned by staff and pupils this week following his death in a boating accident.

Maurice Parkin, 43, had helped his crew, three colleagues from St Mary Redcliffe and Temple school and a fourth man - all of whom survived - into life jackets when his yacht hit rocks at the mouth of the Plymouth Sound as they returned from a cross channel trip last week.
