Teacher took lies too far

A learning support teacher, who failed to attend schools and submitted false mileage claims, has been found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct by a disciplinary committee.

Timothy Spencer, formerly employed by Solihull council, was given a conditional registration order by England’s General Teaching Council. Helen Smith, presenting, said Mr Spencer was overpaid by pound;106.85, and although the amount was “not enormous”, the false claims impacted on his honesty and integrity as a teacher.
