(Photograph) - Students at a Norfolk secondary school have recorded their own radio soap opera, which they claim is like The Archers “but with more explosions”, Helen Ward writes.
The series, Fables of the Old Country, is produced by pupils at Cliff Park high school in Great Yarmouth for broadcast on the internet.
Set in the imaginary village of Stilton Mulberry, episodes revolve around pignapping, a village vegetable competition and golf.
The school’s radio station was the brainchild of Steve Sorrento, head of English, who wanted to motivate pupils to write.
Cliff Park is one of more than 300 schools around the world producing broadcasts for the school radio website Radiowaves.
