Teachers now get a final verdict

For the first time in 17 years, primary teachers in England were last month trusted to give the final verdict on the writing abilities of their Year 6 (P6) pupils. Three-quarters of primary schools are now in the process of reporting teacher assessment grades for writing, in place of the Sats that 11-year-olds have been forced to sit since 1995.
