Two of your correspondents in last week’s Dilemmas column made me wonder how much attention lecturers pay to their student’s backgrounds and learning styles. Your comment, which told of a colleague who videoed his lessons for `students, was just a glimpse of the future.

A catering lecturer from Colchester institute reported increased attention since plasma screens were fitted in the kitchens - students say they remember more because the lesson was seen through a TV screen.

Perhaps colleagues up and down the country need to re-think their art and make more use of the technology available to them.

E-learning is here to stay.
