Kate Dixon, assistant head of Prenton high school for girls, Wirral, joined the school in September 2003, in the middle of a PFI project that was supposed to be completed within two months. But the company carrying out the refit went out of business, and, more than a year later, staff are still living on a building site.

Ms Dixon says the staff at Prenton have shown the greatest professionalism and forbearance, even when faced with the arrival of Ofsted in November, and would welcome our staffroom treat of a Yorkshire Tea Break Time kit from Taylors of Harrogate. It includes a teapot, four bone china mugs, a dozen tasty Yorkshire tea loaves and, of course, plenty of Yorkshire tea.

Bettys and Taylors is a traditional family business based in North Yorkshire that specialises in high-quality foods, such as handmade cakes and chocolates, fine teas, exclusive coffees and luxury biscuits.
