A city technology college soccer team has been banned from its local league because some local schools are refusing to play against it.

Bristol and South Gloucestershire Schools’ Football Association has decided not to allow the under-15s side at the John Cabot City Technology College in Kingswood, Bristol, to take part in league and cup competitions.

David Hinkins, head of physical education at John Cabot, said: “Politics has got tied up with sport and our students are losing out.”
