What sort of message is Professor Green giving when he tells the world that the fundamentals of his subject are boring? Other countries produce talented physicists and mathematicians by lauding their talents, paying them respect and applauding their contribution to society. We call physicists “eggheads”, cut their funding and tell them they don’t know how to teach.
