Teachers can continue providing confidential contraception and abortion advice for pupils under 16, without telling their parents, the High Court has ruled.

It rejected a case brought by Sue Axon, a 52-year-old mother-of-five who went to court in 2004 after reading about a 14-year-old whose abortion was arranged by a school outreach worker without her mother’s knowledge.
