MORE than two million children consult their GPs with some form of emotional or psychological problem and 19,000 adolescents attempt suicide each year, according to Depression Alliance.

Chris Manning,who chairs the organisation, believes teenage depression is prevalent because of pressures of exams, hormonal changes, worries about drugs, bullying, relationships with parents, sex and divorce.
