A TEACHER has been given an oral warning for slapping a pupil who mispronounced a Welsh sentence.

Linda Jones had already received a police caution for common assault against the 13-year-old boy at Ysgol Syr Thomas school in Amlwch, Anglesey, in January. P> The warning followed a complaint to the Welsh Assembly by the boy’s mother, who had refused to accept an apology from Mrs Jones and the school, and had accused the education authorities of closing ranks over the incident to protect the teacher.
