Teenagers take up offer of morning-after pill

AROUND 140 teenage girls were given the morning-after pill without their parents’ knowledge in the first year of a new scheme in Oxfordshire schools. The pupils received the emergency contraception from family planning nurses at Bodyzone clinics, which are allowed to administer the pill without consent from teachers and parents. A similar service is also available in south Derbyshire and east Kent.
