Each of these six talking books comes with an activity and the option for children to record their own versions of the story. Based on a concise core vocabulary, the program is designed with emergent readers in mind: skills include one-to-one word matching and reading with expression. Straightforward for children to use, there is good teacher control, allowing for customisation, enforced progression and record-keeping. There is also the facility for teachers and children to record their voices and the different versions can then be listened to.

The main disadvantage is the long delays in loading the program and between successive screens, although there are many benefits and possibilities.
