Ellinore Lightbody, the former British Federation Cup team captain and former national tennis coach in her native Wales, has taken over from Judy Murray as Scotland’s national coach, a post funded by Tennis Scotland and SportScotland.

SportScotland has recently invested pound;140,000 in the game to develop a competition and training pathway to improve the level of junior play.

“The performance of some of our top players has been phenomenal over the past year,” says Tennis Scotland’s director of tennis, Mat Hulbert. “I believe that this funding will help us to continue to shine in the international arena for years to come.”
