Terrorist packs withdrawn

Teaching packs based on the September 11 atrocities, which invited pupils to imagine organising a terrorist attack, have been withdrawn from schools.

Education officials in Waltham Forest in north-east London admitted the resources, distributed in citizenship classes, were “inappropriate” following claims they could glorify terrorism.

The worksheets asked secondary school children to think of alternative targets to the World Trade Centre and Pentagon.
